Wales, MN - 1/2 the Town is For Sale - nice building site

Wales, MN - A "virtual" city in a beautiful place.

Summer 2009 to Sometime in the Future

As many of you might know, I have changed gears a mazillion times in life, not just on roadrace motorcycles at high speed, but in most of what I do on a daily basis.  Well the rules, regs, crapola, and just plain headaches are too much.....so the business is now still a hobby gone haywire...and the north half of the land will be put up for sale this year some time. The south half won't have the originally-planned winery building on it, just an escape place.

North Half

The north half is about 18+ acres, trout stream runs through both halves. The driveway is in now and leads to a building site that's plenty big enough for a cool hidden cabin in the boonies. There is an easy place to stick a septic system, electric is close, and phone even closer. It is now on the market for $29,900,  from Bear Island Realty in Ely and is basically "ready-to-build".

South Half

The south half is no longer a question of whether it will be for sale or not. It won't be. I want to build my escape place there and keep it for the day I am tired (finally) of traffic, since there is almost none on the Wales Road. The trout pond will be dug and there will be a "deer proof" garden with an 8' fence. There'll be a small A-Frame there with a great view. And there may even be a wine tasting or two there someday .... Tongue out

Ok, there ya have it...sales pitch and limited info on why....join the wine club at www.stratfordroadwinery.com for more info!!

Building Site South Side

The truck is parked on what will be the middle of the garage. This is a very cool place, all the way 'round. If you type "Wales, MN" on Google or Yahoo maps, it will place the name square on top of the land. RR tracks to the south and west, highway runs right through the middle. Trout stream has DNR permission to dig a pond next to it and I have an excavator waiting to do that.....just say "dig".  Cool

It was a misty day on my birthday when this picture was taken. The A-Frame will be to the right of where the truck is in this picture. On a hill with a giant boulder for part of the landscape. Wild raspberries everywhere make this a wonderful place to visit in July. Tongue out
